ABOUT PIP

Hello. You look nice today!

Okay, enough with the flirting. Let me tell you a bit about Pip...

Pip lives in the UK with her wife, Shannon and their two furry ‘kids’ Mouse (the cat) and Roux (the dog). When she’s not hanging out with her imaginary friends, Pip loves travelling, being in the mountains, making delicious food – and eating it, pouring good wine – and drinking it.

Oh and yes, Pip is her real name.

(The question she gets asked most).

And no, she's not Dutch.

(The question she gets asked second-most).

Did Pip always want to be a writer?

Well, no. For a very long time she wanted to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Pip has always had an overactive imagination, but whilst held by the shackles of a corporate job the outlet was... PowerPoint. Unleash the dreamer from the day job and it turned out there was a writer inside her just screaming to come out, along with a whole pride of queer characters begging to be written about (yes, yes... the voices in her head).

Okay, tell me about the actual books...

Inspired by a trip to Scandinavia in 2022, Pip's debut novel, The Weight of What Was is a sapphic second-chance romance which spans two decades and culminates in a delightfully dysfunctional family going on a snowy Arctic adventure.

Pip's sophomore novel, Pyg is a loose sapphic retelling of Pygmalion. It's a story about transformation and getting a grip of your life – letting go of the bad stuff to create space for the good. It's also about the impact of kindness and compassion, not just towards others, but yourself. Pyg isn't really a romance, although the romantic sub-plot sort of took over... oops.

So, what's next?

Pip hopes you will read her novels and buy many, many copies for everyone you know.

If you love them and tell the world about them, she promises she'll write more silly queer books.
